LEUNG Suet Ying (Amy Leung) was born in Hong Kong. She practiced calligraphy and received training in sketching and watercolor painting at a young age. She has won several prizes in public painting competitions, and has participated in several painting exhibitions in Hong Kong.
1980 Begins to learn Chinese painting.
1989 Receives training from Professor Chao Shao-an, an eminent practitioner of the Lingnan School of Chinese painting.
1992-1995 Studies traditional Chinese painting in the Chinese Painting Department of the Central Academy of Fine Art in Beijing, China.
1997 Begins Master’s Degree study at the Central Academy of Fine Art in Beijing, China.
1999 Awarded M.F.A by the Chinese Painting Department of the Central Academy of Fine Art. The graduation thesis “My Acquaintance,
Understanding and Practice of the Spirit of Chinese Arts” is highly praised by the professors. “Beauty of Frost” wins Special Prize at Graduation Exhibition and is added to the permanent collection of the Central Academy of Fine Art. “Colors at Dust” added to the permanent collection of the Chinese Painting Department of the Central Academy of Fine Art.
2000 The painting album “DELIGHT” is published.
2003-2005 Attends the “Abstract Freehand Brushwork Advanced Class” mentoring by Professors Zhang Lichen and Qiu Zhenzhong.
2006-2011 Participates in several painting exhibitions in China, Hong Kong, USA, Canada, Malaysia, Australia and Taipei, etc.
Present Member of the Hong Kong Female Contemporary Art Association, member of the Hong Kong Artist's Association.
